As part of a military family, Edgar Bjarnason was born on the U.S. Naval Base, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Moving to Falls Church, Va. when he was just six months old, Ed considers Northern Virginia home. There, he attended Fairfax County Public Schools, and after graduating from JEB Stuart High School went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in marketing education with a minor in business management from Old Dominion University in Richmond, Va.

Ed manages business development for Linda A Christ Insurance Agency and brings to his position more than 30 years of experience in the insurance arena – working previously with large companies such as Nationwide, GEICO and Allstate.

He began his career as a multi-line agent and business owner with Nationwide. In this capacity, Ed handled all lines of insurance – personal and business. He managed the daily operations of the business, including customer service and sales for insurance products such as home, auto, life, and on the commercial side, errors and omissions, workers compensation and even employee benefits.

Following his time as an agent, Ed had a lengthy career in claims adjustment and investigation for a variety of leading insurance companies. His more than 24 years of experience in investigations provided him the opportunity to work with both personal and business claims adjustments, including general liability, property damage and Inland Marine claims.

Finally, before joining the team at Linda A Christ Insurance Agency, Ed was a field adjuster focusing on writing and settling structural claims. Ed successfully negotiated settlements for both small and large losses with customers, their attorneys, general contractors (including storm chasers) and public adjusters. “I’ve been on catastrophe duty all over the east coast,” said Ed.

Now, with Linda A Christ Insurance Agency, Ed is pleased to offer clients and potential clients one-on-one customer service and expertise focused in the commercial insurance arena. These are just a few of the things he says make Linda A Christ a Better Way to Manage Risk:

“We will review the contractual obligations or requirements of leases and job-related contracts. We are not attorneys, but do understand the insurance requirements detailed in contracts.

“We will review a client’s existing policy and then outline the coverages in a spreadsheet to help the customer understand what they have and why certain types of coverage are important.

“Many insurance agents promise a 48 hour turnaround when responding to certificate of insurance requests. We consistently complete them the same day, as these requests are often an important part of the client’s ability to move their business forward, bid on jobs or even get paid.

“As a broker, we service clients directly and do not pass customer service needs onto the inboxes or call centers of the insurance companies we represent. The client can fully rely on us.”
